In honor of Monterey’s 247th Birthday, Estéban Restaurant located\r\nat historic Casa Munras Garden Hotel & Spa will be donating 10%\r\nof all food sales to the Old Monterey Foundation for a second year.\r\nFounded with the mission to promote, support, and enhance the\r\nartistic, cultural, and historic environment of historic Downtown\r\nMonterey, the Old Monterey Foundation along with Casa Munras\r\nGarden Hotel & Spa both encompass an affinity for maintaining,\r\nprotecting, and sharing the deep-rooted history of Monterey. Most\r\nrecently the Old Monterey Foundation unveiled a Lower Presidio\r\nHistoric Park entrance sign, the first step of many to create\r\nawareness of the park and Presidio of Monterey Museum, which\r\nshowcases Monterey’s military history and is considered to be the\r\n“jewel” of the City of Monterey’s park system.\r\nFrom its founding on June 3, 1770 Monterey’s Spanish heritage\r\ncan be experienced today through the diverse architectural styles\r\nfound throughout historic Downtown Monterey. Casa Munras\r\noriginally constructed in 1824 by Spanish Diplomat Don Estéban\r\nMunras continues to pay homage to its roots by preserving the\r\nhistory of the Munras family and the original residence constructed\r\nwith handmade 32-inch adobe bricks.
