Don't despair - you can still run in the sequoias - Sunday, April 25

By: The Inns of Monterey / Apr 21, 2010
The 25th Big Sur International Marathon on April 25th is a spectacular road race set along one of the most breath-taking courses in the world. But this isn’t just one giant run – it’s several, from the traditional marathon to milers and relays.
Thousands of runners and walkers – from all 50 states and more than 20 countries - begin their trek from Big Sur to Carmel on Highway One just south of Pfeiffer State Park. Along the way, runners and walkers wind their way through majestic redwoods and past breath-taking Pacific Ocean views. Varied musical venues greet participants at each turn, providing inspiration that has been likened to a spiritual experience. Pre-registration for the 5K, 3K and relay is NOW CLOSED and the Marathon is sold out. But don’t despair! There will be registration at the Expo for 5K, 3K and relay only on Friday, April 23 from noon to 6:00 pm and Saturday, April 24 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The Expo is located in the Monterey Conference Center at 1 Portola Plaza, adjacent to the Hotel Pacific.
There will also be race morning registration for Saturday's 3K at Lover's Point Park.
