Science and spy movies meet up once again, thanks to the always entertaining efforts of the Mythbusters. In order to follow up on one of their most popular episodes, Jamie Heineman and Adam Savage came back to the Monterey peninsula to test another round of spy-cars! Filmed earlier this year, the episode will air on May 18th, at 9:00PM on the Discovery Channel. Explosions and car chases take advantage of some of the empty Fort Ord military housing as these two Myth-busting men take on the challenge of spy-car perfection. This episode, and many others like it, really showcases the diversity of the Monterey Peninsula. From explosive-wielding mad scientists, to ocean enthusiasts to guests who enjoy the subtle nuances of fine wine and food, the Monterey peninsula has something for everyone. With year-round temperate weather, a variety of lodging, and world-class attractions such as the Monterey Bay Aquarium, it’s easy to see why people – and the Mythbusters – keep coming back. Even the big screen feels the draw of Monterey; movie buffs can spot familiar local landmarks in Basic Instinct, The Color Purple, Escape to Witch Mountain, The Graduate, The Muppet Movie, Turner & Hooch, Play Misty for Me, and even Star Trek IV. So be sure to tune in to the Mythbusters on Wednesday May 18th, at 9:00PM to see our wonderful peninsula dressed up as the set for a spy-epic.
