Renovation Rejuvenates Monterey’s Romantic Spindrift Inn

(Monterey, CA) - February 2009 - The romantic oceanfront Spindrift Inn rang in the New Year in style with a whole new look! What hasn’t changed is the Inn’s stunning setting on McAbee’s white sand beach, just a stone’s throw from the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium and myriad of Cannery Row attractions, restaurants and activities.

The Inn’s distinctive four story lobby and 45 gracious guest rooms reflect a total makeover that includes new designs, furnishings, floorings, fabrics and lovely bathrooms to create a soothing, romantic atmosphere.

Interior Designer, Carl V. Williamson, deftly combined milled florals, damasks, tweeds and silk in hues of raspberry and green apple on custom-designed canopied feather beds, coverlets and plush pillows. Deep seated cozy chairs with ottomans create the perfect place to enjoy the beautiful room’s wood burning, marble fireplace. Each room has an inviting window seat, the perfect perch for an afternoon nap. Guests can open windows to Monterey’s refreshing ocean breezes.

Furniture pieces custom-designed for the Spindrift Inn include rich walnut, satinwood and pear wood bedside tables and an activity table with a pair of chairs. Polished hardwood floors and custom wool area rugs are underfoot. Every guestroom features a 37-inch flat panel television, wireless Internet access, in-room safe, robes and marble-topped mini bar.

The newly renovated bathrooms feature highly polished Calcutta Oro marble and buffed nickel fittings. Thirsty cotton towels, Aveda personal care products, hairdryer and magnifying make-up mirror complete the picture.

The Inn’s stunning lobby was also renovated to showcase the raspberry and green apple hues found in the guest rooms. The massive marble wood burning fireplace continues to serve as the room’s focal point, with new sofas, settees, ottomans and tables inviting relaxation or rousing card games. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the Inn’s nightly wine and cheese service featuring local favorites.
