The longest continuously running jazz festival in the world is back for it's 55th year. September 21-23, 2013 the Monterey Fairgrounds will play host to the Monterey Jazz Festival.
Headliner Tony Bennett, who last played Monterey in 2005, will be joined at the festival by New Orleans singer/trombonist Trombone Shorty, jazz drummer Jack DeJohnette, guitarists Pat Metheny and Bill Frisell, Grammy Award-winning singer/bassist Esperanza Spalding, singer Melody Gardot, and salsa performer Eddie Palmieri.
Young trumpeter Akinmusire, this year’s Artist-in-Residence, will perform several times throughout the weekend.
