Have a Whale of a Visit
Nature lovers seeking something fresh and exciting - but most importantly affordable - this winter are invited to catch a glimpse of California's most popular visitor, the impressive gray whales. The Monterey Bay offers the best place on California's coast to watch the annual migration of hundreds of Gray Whales.
Whale watchers set sail at 10am from Monterey Bay's Fisherman's Wharf on the 70-foot Sea Wolf II vessel captained by Marine Biologist Nancy Black or Biologist Richard Ternullo. A seasoned marine biologist is also on deck to help spot migrating Gray Whales in addition to dolphins, porpoise, sea otters, sea lions and harbor seals which are typically seen on every trip in the diverse Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary. Bring plenty of warm layers and comfy shoes as well as binoculars, a camera, and a bagged lunch (light refreshments are served in the galley).
